OUR RECOMMENDATION

Best E-Signature Software for Canadian Small Businesses

We looked at 7 e-signature products sold to Canadian small businesses. Here is what we recommend, and when we would tell you to buy something else.

For Canadian small offices that send contracts every week, we recommend MapleSecure: unlimited signed documents for a flat CAD monthly price, an audit trail on every signature, and Canadian data residency. If you need deep CRM integrations or a large template library, the alternatives below are worth the higher price.
Full disclosure: MapleSecure is made by Joel & Nanz Inc., the company behind this page. We built it because of the gaps we found below. No other vendor paid to appear here.

What we found

We compared Docusign, Adobe Acrobat, Dropbox Sign, Zoho Sign and Notarius ConsignO Cloud with MapleSecure. The questions that separated them:

  • Where signed documents live. ConsignO Cloud hosts signed documents only on servers in Canada. Docusign and Zoho Sign publish Canadian data centres. Dropbox Sign offers Canadian storage only on its custom-quote Premium plan.
  • Per-sender pricing. Most tools charge per user, and entry plans cap how many documents you can send each month.
  • Currency. Dropbox Sign prices in US dollars; the others we checked publish CAD prices.

MapleSecure is our answer for small offices that send a lot of documents: unlimited signing at a flat CAD price, with Canadian data residency.
